"True Power of the Performing Arts"
A great TED Talk piece by Ben Cameron Highlighting the true value of performing arts to the world and society.

Not only do the teachers at Napa Valley Ballet possess remarkable knowledge and experience, they also are extremely patient and caring. NVB is, without a doubt, the best classical ballet school around! Our end of the year spring performance, "Vive La Danse", was fantastic and showcased what the students are learning, level by level. By the time students have reached the highest levels of training, many of them are accepted at the most prestigious ballet schools around the country. It is simply fabulous!

Napa Valley Ballet's 2013 recital will feature the classic ballet Les Sylphides with original choreography by Michel Fokine and music by Frederic Chopin. Les Sylphides, often described as a "romantic reverie", has no plot, but instead consists of many ethereal sylphs dancing in the moonlight with a handsome poet, performed by Robert Dekkers, artistic director/Choreographer of Post:Ballet in San Francisco. He will dance with local Sylph maidens Emma Harris, Sydney Joy, Katie Suh, Isabelle LeMieux and Johanna Kittel. NVB will also be presenting Les Sylphides with a complete corps de ballet totaling twenty advanced dancers from the school.   Also on the program will be Les Oiseaux, a presentation of different birds as they appear to bird watchers on a trek through Napa Valley! Choreography for Les Oiseaux is by NVB faculty members and the short bird vignettes feature all levels of NVB students.  Climaxing the program will be an exciting new piece by Robert Dekkers featuring local professional dancers.

Please download the form if you would like to make a donation to our silent auction to support local performance arts.

NVB's Emma Harris Impresses at Lincoln Theater Reopening

Emma made a great impression on the Napa Valley Register's L. Pierce Carson given his quote in his March 27th article... Brava Emma!

"Another delightful moment came as 14-year-old Emma Harris, a member of Napa Valley Ballet, danced exquisitely “The Swan” from Camille Saint-Saens’ “Carnival of the Animals.” Harris executed what I believe was the famous Fokine choreography with beauty and grace beyond her years."
